Bed & Breakfast | Guest House Accommodation in Leamington Spa
Until 1800, Leamington Spa was a small village known as Leamington Priors. However, in 1784 saline springs were discovered, which was the start of the town's growth to prominence as one of the leading Spa towns of the Regency and Victorian periods. Jephson Gardens, which runs from the Royal Pump Rooms alongside the river Leam, was voted 'the best park in Britain 2004' by the Royal Horticultural Society. Park Street in the centre of town, is known as the Bond Street of Leamington due to its numerous 'designer label' shops. The Parade, the main street is a fine example of Regency architecture which has, by and large, been well preserved. As well as shopping, Leamington is well blessed with restaurants and cafes, from the well-known national chains to chic local chef-patron bistros and street cafes.
